Zira's head coach Rashad Sadygov shared his thoughts at a press conference ahead of the first leg of the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round against Georgia's Torpedo Kutaisi.

According to Offsideplus.az, the 44-year-old specialist stated that they have completed their preparations and are aiming for a positive result in tomorrow's match:

"An important game awaits us. Our opponent is experienced and consistently performs in European competitions. However, our team is also experienced. We had little time to prepare, while the opponent's league is ongoing. Some players arrived at the training camp a bit late. Our participation in European competitions was not planned; perhaps if we had qualified earlier, they would have arrived in better shape."

The home coach also addressed injury issues and the squad situation:

"Injuries are an inseparable part of football, and we seem to have them quite often. Maycon's injury concerns us, but I want to believe that Aydin Bayramov's experience will help us cope without him. We did not want to rush the selection process; we still have 5-6 transfer spots open. The final decision regarding the squad will be made tomorrow."

It is worth noting that the match between Zira and Torpedo will take place on July 8 at 20:00 at the Mehdi Huseynzade Stadium in Sumgait. The return leg is scheduled for July 16.
