Azerbaijani judoka Farid Rzazade has become the World Cadet Champion.

According to Offsideplus.az, our representative competing in the -50 kg weight category won the gold medal on the first day of the World Judo Cadets Championships held in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

On his path to the final, Farid Rzazade defeated Suleyman Dogru (Turkey), Bekarys Kudaibergen (Kazakhstan), and Artur Bonato (Brazil). In the decisive match, he defeated Kazakhstan's Adilzhan Nurbeke to claim the top spot on the podium.

He has become the 5th Cadet World Champion in the history of Azerbaijani judo.

It should be noted that three more of our cadet judokas will step onto the tatami at the World Championships today.
