Four Azerbaijani judokas took to the tatami on the second day of the World Judo Championships in Baku.

Offsideplus.az reports that the host nation's athletes finished the day without adding to their medal count:

52 kg: Gultaj Mammadaliyeva defeated Gefen Primo (Israel) and Tinku Isztan (Australia) to reach the quarterfinals. However, she was stopped by Odette Giuffrida (Italy) and subsequently lost her repechage bout against Uranzai Baanmunh (Mongolia) to exit the tournament.

66 kg: Ruslan Pashayev defeated Serdar Rahimov (Turkmenistan) in his opening match before falling to Valerio Accagli (Italy) in the round of 16. Nizami Imranov overcame Vazha Margvelashvili (Georgia) but was eliminated by Ramazan Abdulaev (Russia) in the round of 32. Turan Bayramov lost his opening contest to Sasa Luukhas (Finland).

The tournament is being held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. So far, Azerbaijan's sole medal was claimed by Ahmed Yusifov, who won gold in the 60 kg division.
