“Offside”, one of the sports websites with a wide readership in Azerbaijan, was founded on June 29, 2013 with the creation of the “Offside” page on the “Facebook” social network. “Offside” started its activities on the “Facebook” and “Instagram” social networks under the name "Offside" and managed to collect more than 100,000 followers in a short time.

As a result of activity on social networks, a football website of the same name was created in 2014. The website dedicated to football became popular on the Internet in a short time. The website took its rightful place in the country's sports community by covering the latest football news, transfers, game results and various events surrounding football. 

In 2018, “Offside” rebranded, expanded its scope of activity, and presented the sports portal www.offsideplus.az covering all sports fields to the public. “Offside”, a multidisciplinary sports media, promptly presents the most important events of national and world sports to its readers.

During its existence, “Offside” has been awarded various awards and has actively participated in the public life of the country. In 2016, “Offside” won the “Meme of the Year” nomination at the “Bomba” award ceremony, the first social media award in Azerbaijan. In addition, the Offsideplus.az website was awarded the title of the best sports website of 2023.

The main goal of the site is to contribute to the development of the country's sports and the growth of interest in football in the country. The mission of “Offside” is to provide its audience with operational news about events in world and Azerbaijani sports and to serve the development of sports as the country's largest sports press.
