The European Wrestling Championship for 2023 will take place in the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava, from April 7 to 13.

According to Offsideplus.az, the championship will be held at the "X-Bionic" Sports Complex, with freestyle wrestlers competing in the first days of the event. The Azerbaijani national team will participate under the leadership of head coach Khetag Gazyumov and coaches Cebrail Hesenov, Taymuraz Kokoyev, and Sharif Sharifov. The team members will be Islam Bazarqanov (57 kg), Nuredin Novruzov (61 kg), Ali Rahimzadeh (65 kg), Kenan Heybetov (70 kg), Aganazer Novruzov (74 kg), Orkhan Abasov (79 kg), Arseniy Djioyev (86 kg), Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg), Abubakr Abakarov (97 kg), and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg).

Next, the women's wrestlers will compete under the leadership of Toğrul Asgarov and Agahuseyn Mustafayev. The female team members are Elnure Memmedova (55 kg), Jale Aliyeva (57 kg), Alyona Kolesnik (59 kg), and Ruzanna Memmedova (62 kg).

At the end of the competition, Greco-Roman wrestlers will join the event. They will compete under the leadership of head coach Aleksandr Tarakanov, senior coach Rovshan Bayramov, and coaches Hesen Aliyev and Kamran Mammadov. The Greco-Roman team includes Eldeniz Azizli (55 kg), Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), Murad Mammadov (63 kg), Hesret Jafarov (67 kg), Ulvu Qenizade (72 kg), Senan Suleymanov (77 kg), Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg), Islam Abbasov (87 kg), Murad Ahmadiev (97 kg), and Beka Kandelaki (130 kg).

The competitions will begin daily at 12:30 PM Baku time. The semifinals will start at 6:45 PM, and the medal matches will take place at 8:00 PM.

The referees for the championship will be Asif Shiraliyev and Sadi Guliyev, who will ensure fair play.
