The Azerbaijani freestyle wrestling national team, which claimed the European title in the team standings in Tirana, Albania, has returned home. A ceremonial welcome was held at Heydar Aliyev International Airport for the squad, which secured 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal.

Khetag Gazyumov (Head Coach): "Winning the team title is the result of collective effort. We are grateful to the Federation and everyone who supported us. After a short rest, we will begin preparations for the World Championships."

Islam Bazarganov (Gold Medal): "After two bronze medals, I finally turned it into gold. Although my opponent narrowed the gap in the final, I managed to hold onto the win."

Ali Tsokayev (Gold Medal): "I am thrilled to win gold in my senior debut. I dedicate this success to the Federation and our fans."

Giorgi Meshvildishvili (Gold Medal): "I successfully defended my title. I will continue to do my best for Azerbaijani wrestling as long as my career lasts."

Turan Bayramov (Silver Medal): "I reached the European final again after five years. The competition in the 74 kg category is intense, and I will work harder to upgrade this silver to gold."

Arseniy Djioyev (Silver Medal): "The Federation provided us with excellent conditions. We have proven that we are on the right track."

Jabrayil Gadjiev (Bronze Medal): "I won my first medal at the European Championships. I will work on my semifinal mistakes ahead of the World Championships."

Osman Nurmagomedov: "This was my first test at 97 kg. I plan to improve my physical strength and prove myself before the World Championships. Special thanks to Khetag Gazyumov, who was named Europe’s best freestyle wrestling coach."
