The President of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, Mikayil Jabbarov, commented on the historic success of the national team at the European Championships held in Tirana, Albania.

Offsideplus.az reports that the head of the federation praised the athletes' brilliant performance at the continental championship on his X account:

"Our team, which won 13 medals (5 gold, 2 silver, and 6 bronze) in Tirana, has written another brilliant chapter in its history. It is a matter of pride that both our Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling national teams became European champions in the team standings. In particular, it should be emphasized that our freestyle wrestlers achieved their best result in the last 17 years in terms of the quality of medals. I sincerely congratulate our athletes, their coaches, and their families, and I wish for the continued success of Azerbaijani sports on the international stage".
