The U-20 national team's European tour has concluded with a historic achievement.

The B Division matches of the European Championship for players under 20 years old have come to an end.

In the tournament held in Bratislava, Slovakia, our U-20 national team, led by Anar Sariyev, played their final match against the Netherlands and secured a victory with a score of 66-60. Among the 21 teams participating in the B Division of the European Championship, our team, being one of the three youngest squads by average age, finished the tournament in 11th place. This result marks a first in the history of Azerbaijani basketball. Notably, our strongest opponent in the group, the Swedish national team, claimed the bronze medals in the championship.

Our other rival, the Ireland team, successfully advanced through the play-off stage, finishing in 5th place. The North Macedonia team also secured a spot in the top ten, concluding the tournament in 9th place.
