The first day of the European Championship for juniors has been a successful one for Azerbaijani athletes.

According to Offsideplus.az, our national team has risen to the top among 44 countries with its impressive results.

Ayxan Mirzazade (-60 kg): Demonstrating excellent fighting skills, he climbed to the highest step of the podium, bringing home the first gold medal for our country. In the decisive round, he defeated French representative Lucien Tixier to secure his place at the top.

Mohammad Musayev (-66 kg): Successfully overcoming intense matches, he added the second gold medal to Azerbaijan's tally in the championship. In the final, he triumphed over Serbian representative Marko Jorgic with an ippon, reaching the highest step of the podium.
