The Azerbaijani women's 3x3 national basketball team finished fourth in their debut appearance at the World Cup.
Offsideplus.az reports that national team coach Ratomir Delic evaluated the girls' performance at the World Championship:
"It is hard to speak after these games, but first and foremost, I want to say that I am immensely proud of my players. Seeing how they fought was truly something to be proud of. I hope Brianna Fraser's injury is not serious and that she recovers quickly to join us back on the court soon. It is unfortunate that this happened, but that is part of sports, regrettably.
At the same time, I am a bit disappointed that we did not have the chance to fight with a full squad until the end of the semifinal. Because I believe we were performing very well in that match. Even without substitution options and having lost the tournament's top scorer for the final 4 minutes and overtime, we put up very serious resistance against our opponent. Therefore, I must say again that I am very proud of my team.
We progressed from game to game, improved throughout the tournament, and looked like a stronger team every single day. We did not get the result we wanted, but we are proud of the performance we showed, and we will come back stronger next time."
