Belgian former FIFA referee Frank De Blekere has parted ways with the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA).

According to Offsideplus.az, the experienced specialist's tenure at the national association has come to an end.

Appointed as the head of the AFFA Referees Committee in July 2024, De Blekere had been serving as an advisor on international refereeing and training since November 2025. During his time, the number of FIFA-rated referees in Azerbaijan increased to four for the first time starting from 2026.

The Belgian expert will continue his career with the Serbian Football Federation, where he will serve as the head of the Referees Commission.

AFFA has thanked Frank De Blekere for his services and wished him success in his future endeavours.
