On the second day of the wrestling ranking tournament held in Budapest, Hungary, two members of Azerbaijan's freestyle wrestling team climbed onto the podium.

According to information from the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, Ali Tsokayev (92 kg) secured victories over American Dastin Plott (8:6), Bahraini Magomed Sharipov (2:0), and Turkish Fatih Altunbaş (11:0) to qualify for the final. The decisive match did not take place as Ukrainian Muxammed Aliyev was injured, allowing A. Tsokayev to win the ranking tournament for the first time in his career.

Thus, our representative has surpassed all his opponents in the third competition he has participated in this year. It is worth noting that A. Tsokayev has also been crowned European champion this year in both the U-23 age group and among seniors.

Jabrayıl Hajiyev (79 kg) advanced to the final after defeating Kazakhstan's Shamsat Tahir (2:0) and Georgia's Luka Chkhitunidze (5:3). However, in the decisive match, he was defeated by Mongolia's Suldkhuu Olonbayar (0:5) and won a silver medal at the ranking tournament.

Osman Nurmaqomedov (97 kg) was eliminated in the 1/8 finals by Poland's Zbigniew Baranowski based on the last point principle (3:3).

Giorgi Meşvildişvili (125 kg) eliminated Poland's Robert Baran (3:1) and American Demetrius Thomas (6:2) but did not compete in the quarter-finals due to injury.

Gültəkin Şirinova (55 kg) lost to Ukraine's Natalya Klivchutskaya in the qualification round (1:5). In the consolation match, our compatriot defeated Kazakhstan's Aynur Aşimova convincingly (11:0) but lost in the bronze medal match to Canada's Karla Gonzales (0:5).
