In the third round of the Misli Premier League, Kəpəz secured a 1-0 victory against Turan Tovuz at their home ground.
After the match, Kəpəz's head coach Azer Memmedov answered questions from journalists.
The coach first spoke about the significance of the victory in the new stadium: "I would like to thank everyone who contributed to bringing such a stadium to our city and country. Welcome to Ganja. It is pleasing to win in our first match at the new stadium. We had magnificent supporters. I would like to have such fans at every match. We were playing against a strong opponent. When analysing Turan Tovuz, I was thinking about how we would score. Thankfully, we managed to do it. We achieved a very tough and important victory. I thank the fans, the management, the players, and my staff – this victory is thanks to everyone."
Azer Memmedov also commented on the idea that "youth should work in Ganja": "I do not agree with this topic. Whoever is deserving should work. Today, I have been recommended."
Speaking about the victory, the head coach noted that there are still many areas the team needs to work on: "Previously, we had beaten Neftchi. It was the same this time. We have many shortcomings. We need to work hard. I told the players that this victory does not reflect our strength. Three years ago, we faced failure; let’s hope it won’t be the case this time."
