The U15 European Wrestling Championship for teenagers continues in Samokov, Bulgaria.

Offsideplus.az reports that on the third day of the competition, the Azerbaijani girls' national team added 1 gold and 1 bronze medal to their tally.

Taking to the mat, Ulviyya Musayeva (33 kg) defeated Turkish representative Yagmur Minaz with full dominance (11-0) ahead of time in the decisive final match to step onto the highest position of the podium. With this spectacular achievement, Ulviyya made history as the first athlete in Azerbaijani women's wrestling to win a European championship in the U15 age category.

Our other representative, Madina Karimova (46 kg), defeated Russian Shanka Malchinova (5-2) in her first repechage bout on her way to the bronze medal. Following that, our wrestler faced Karin Guler of Turkey in the 3rd-place match and secured the European Championship bronze medal by pinfall.

The last athlete of our Greco-Roman wrestling national team, Fikrat Bakhshaliyev (85 kg), finished the competition just one step away from the podium. After showing his strength against Croatian athlete Stefan Cavric with a big score (9-0) in the repechage bout, Bakhshaliyev lost to Belarusian wrestler Nikola Osipov (2-9) in the decisive match for the bronze medal and had to settle for 5th place.
