At the U-20 World Championship held in Bratislava, our wrestlers have secured another medal and a final opportunity.

According to Offsideplus.az, on the third day of the competition, our Greco-Roman wrestler Emin Cavadli (55 kg) defeated Japan's Hiro Sakamoto decisively (11-1) in the bronze medal match, becoming the world bronze medalist. This brings the total number of medals for the Azerbaijani team in the tournament to three (1 silver, 2 bronze).

In addition to the medals, our wrestlers have also secured further accolades:

Ayxan Cavadov (60 kg): After eliminating competitors from France, Brazil, and Iran, he has reached the final of the U-20 World Championship for the second consecutive time. He will face Uzbekistan's Dostonbek Oripov for the gold medal.

Elmin Aliyev (82 kg): Despite advancing confidently to the semi-finals, he lost to Belarusian Kiril Valevski (4-7). Our representative will compete for the bronze medal.

Zahra Karimzade (72 kg): Although she defeated her Turkish opponent by 'ippon', she lost in the semi-finals to India's Tanu Sharma (0-11). Zahra will also fight for the bronze medal.

Esra Mammadli (53 kg): She was eliminated early after losing to a Kazakh opponent in the qualifying round (1-7).
