The U23 European Wrestling Championships in Zrenjanin, Serbia, are drawing to a close.

Offsideplus.az reports that on the sixth day of the competition, two of our Greco-Roman wrestlers reached the podium.

Farid Sadikhli (55 kg) faced Alibek Amirov of Russia in the final. The match ended in a 3-3 draw, but Sadikhli lost based on the "last point" principle, earning the silver medal.

Ilkin Gurbanov (63 kg) defeated France's Lucas Grasso 4-2 in the repechage round. In the bronze medal match, he secured a victory by "fall" (pin) over Georgia's Rati Khozrevanidze to finish third in Europe.
