The General Secretary of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF), Parvin Piriyev, and the Vice-President of the federation, Namig Abdullayev, have visited the Lankaran and Astara districts as part of ongoing efforts to develop wrestling in the regions.
Offsideplus.az reports that this was stated by the AWF.
During the visit, the officials inspected wrestling halls in Lankaran and Astara, getting closely acquainted with their material-technical base and the training processes. The federation management exchanged views with local coaches regarding current challenges and future plans.
The meetings included extensive discussions on further improving the training conditions for athletes, providing wrestling halls with necessary equipment, including wrestling mats, creating new training venues, and attracting sponsors who can support the development of wrestling in the regions. Proposals and initiatives raised by the coaches were carefully listened to, and ideas were exchanged on gradually addressing existing needs.
The AWF will continue to implement infrastructure projects in the regions to develop wrestling across different areas, elevate the preparation level of athletes, and enhance the quality of the training process.
