A delegation from the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan (NOC) — consisting of Vice-President Chingiz Huseynzade, Head of the Foreign Relations Department Anar Bagirov, and Head of the International Programs Department Jeyhun Rahmanov — is participating in the 55th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), which kicked off today in Budapest, Hungary.
Offsideplus.az reports that the two-day event is attended by International Olympic Committee (IOC) representative Kirsty Coventry, EOC President Spyros Capralos, and other top sports officials. The assembly will focus on key updates regarding upcoming major events, including preparations for the Istanbul 2027 European Games, the Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games, and the 2027 Winter and Summer European Youth Olympic Festivals (EYOF) in Brasov and Lignano Sabbiadoro.
Additionally, the agenda features the presentation of the prestigious Piotr Nurowski Prize for the best young European athlete, anti-doping reports from WADA, and the official announcement of Istanbul as the host city for the 56th EOC General Assembly.
