Today marks the third day of the World Cup, as former hosts Qatar face Switzerland, a team that has successfully advanced from the group stage in the last three tournaments.

There is at least one fan of the Swiss national team who played football in Azerbaijan-Swiss forward Karim Rossi, who spent last season at Shamakhi.

The 32-year-old striker shared his thoughts with Offsideplus.az regarding his country's ambitions and potential run in the tournament:

"I think Switzerland has a very stable team with quality players in every position. However, with Xherdan Shaqiri no longer in the squad, we feel a certain lack of creativity. In my opinion, we can perform well against teams that try to control the game, but we will need more creativity against weaker opponents. I believe the minimum goal is to pass the group stage, and we will achieve that."

He also noted that he expects a surprise from the Swiss national team:

"I should also mention that we could cause a surprise. The semifinals or final might be difficult, but I think we can reach the quarterfinals."

The Qatar vs. Switzerland match will kick off tonight at 23:00 Baku time.
