Ilham Zakiyev Crowned European Champion for the 10th Time

According to Offsideplus.az, Azerbaijani para-judoka Ilham Zakiyev (J1, +95 kg) won the gold medal at the European Para Judo Championships held in Heidelberg, Germany.

The decorated athlete defeated Daniel English of Great Britain in the semifinals and Garros Suarez of Spain in the final, both by ippon, to claim the top spot on the podium. This marks the 10th European title of Zakiyev's career.

It should be noted that earlier in the tournament, national teammates Saleh Sultanov (J1, 81 kg) and Dursadaf Karimova (J2, +70 kg) secured bronze medals.
