On 28 September 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Karabakh Revival Fund and Turan Tovuz PFK.

According to Offsideplus.az, the memorandum was signed by Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, and Ehtiram Guliyev, Chairman of the Board of Turan Tovuz PFK.

As per the document, the proceeds from the friendly match between Turan Tovuz PFK and Turkey's Fenerbahce, scheduled for 3 October in Baku, will be donated to the Karabakh Revival Fund.

The funds raised will be directed towards financing projects aimed at the reconstruction of the liberated territories and the sustainable development of the region.

Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, praised this noble initiative aimed at the revival of Karabakh and expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turan Tovuz PFK for the initiative.

Hajiyev noted that sport is not only a field of competition and struggle but also an important platform that unites various segments of society around common goals. According to him, the donation of proceeds from the match between two historic clubs, Turan Tovuz and Fenerbahce, demonstrates the unifying and benevolent power of sport.

Ehtiram Guliyev, Chairman of the Board of Turan Tovuz PFK, stated that hosting such a match is not only an exciting football event for fans but also holds special significance in serving a charitable purpose. He added that the donation of proceeds from the match to the Karabakh Revival Fund provides both clubs and fans with an opportunity to support the revival of Karabakh.

It is worth noting that Turan Tovuz and Fenerbahce have faced each other before. The teams met in the UEFA Cup in 1994. On 9 August of that year, they played at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul, and on 23 August, they faced off at the Mehdi Huseynzade Stadium in Sumgait.

Thus, Turan Tovuz and Fenerbahce will meet again after 32 years, this time in a friendly match.

The match between Turan Tovuz and Fenerbahce will take place on 3 October at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium, starting at 20:00.
