In the 11th round of the Misli Premier League, Valdas Dambrauskas, head coach of Sabah, addressed journalists in a post-match press conference following the 2-2 draw with Shamakhi.

The Lithuanian specialist began by congratulating the nation on a significant day and evaluating the match:

"I congratulate the Azerbaijani people on Victory Day. We prepare to win every game, but there are ups and downs. We couldn't fully control the match, as the opponent created dangerous counter-attacks. A 2-2 scoreline may seem interesting for the fans, but we could have either won or lost the match. However, if we are positioned in the top five, this is a serious loss of points for us."

The experienced head coach also touched upon the officiating, comparing it to European competitions:

"There are many episodes worth discussing. When playing in the Champions League, we see that referees strictly adhere to the rules. I would like the officiating in the domestic league to be at the same level."

Not using the windy weather as an excuse, the coach emphasised the importance of professionalism:

"This is football, and the weather has no significance. The wind posed a problem for both teams; we just need to be professional."

Discussing the tight schedule and upcoming matches, Dambrauskas spoke about the fatigue within the team:

"I don't know how the players will return from the national teams. We had tough travels, and player fatigue is natural. When the score was 2-1 in our favour, we missed two clear chances, and then the opponent equalised. Nevertheless, there are still many points to be gained ahead."

The coach also discussed the challenges of focusing on league matches amidst European competition experience:

"Qarabag had been competing in European tournaments for 12 years and had significant experience. For us, this is the first time. We are effectively competing with two squads, and when rotating, the understanding among players decreases. Last season, it took a total of 15 matches to transition to a higher level. After the match with Viking, it is not easy to maintain the same pace, and we do not have enough time to recover."

Finally, regarding Abdulla Khaybullayev's performance in the number 10 position against Viking, the head coach concluded:

"His perspective on the game is very important when he is on the pitch. In that match, his roles in attack and defence were different. We fought closely until the red card against Viking. When necessary, we have to limit the functions of the players."
