The 46th World Chess Olympiad held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan has come to an end.

According to Offsideplus.az, both of our teams achieved successful results in the final round - the 11th round of the tournament.

Our men's team, consisting of Shakhriyar Mammadyarov, Rauf Mammadov, Aydin Suleymanli, Mahammad Muradli, and Eltac Safarli, defeated Serbia 2.5:1.5 in the last round. With this result, our men's team finished the Olympiad in fifth place, accumulating a total of 17 points.

The tournament winner was the host nation, Uzbekistan.

Our women's team, represented by Ulviya Fataliyeva, Gunay Mammadzada, Govhar Beydullayeva, Khanim Balacayeva, and Gulnar Mammadova, triumphed over the Iranian team with a score of 3:1 in the final round.

Finishing in 16th place with 15 points, our women's team competed in a tournament where the Chinese team claimed the championship title.
