The head coach of Azerbaijan’s U-21 national team, Ayxan Abbasov, gave statements to AFFA’s official website.
According to Offsideplus.az, the young coach assessed the matches against Moldova (2:0) and North Macedonia (0:0):
“It is pleasing that we remained unbeaten in the friendly matches held during our training camp. We tried to give most players a chance in a short period. Of course, some couldn’t play, but I want to give everyone this opportunity in the next camp. The inclusion of players born in 2006-2007 in the U-21 squad is promising for the future. I believe our preparation was productive. It is crucial for our players to get regular playing time in their clubs until the summer. We plan to play two more friendly matches during the summer camp, and after that, we will focus on official games. I was pleased to see our young players show character in both matches against Moldova and North Macedonia. We are optimistic about the future.”
