The Judo in Schools project has been launched, jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (AJF) and the State Agency for Preschool and General Education.

According to Offsideplus.az, the opening ceremony took place at Secondary School No. 250 in the Nizami district of Baku.

Key officials, including AJF Executive Vice-President Rashad Rasullu and Honored Coach Tarlan Hasanov, attended the event to discuss the project’s goals and its benefits for students.

Under this initiative, students in grades 4, 5, and 6 will learn the fundamentals of judo during physical education classes. The sessions, led by AJF-certified international coaches, will focus on:

  • Core Skills: Basic rules, safe falling techniques (ukemi), and initial movement patterns.

  • Values: Developing respect, discipline, and responsibility through age-appropriate drills and judo-based games.

  • Partnership: Enhancing the ability to work effectively with partners.
