Azerbaijani chess player Ulviyya Fataliyeva has emerged as the winner of the international tournament "IV Women's Chess Championship" held in Bukhara, Uzbekistan.

According to Offsideplus.az, our representative outperformed elite competitors to secure the top spot on the podium.

The traditional tournament featured prominent grandmasters, including European champion Nana Dzagnidze (Georgia), youth world champion Afruza Khamdamova (Uzbekistan), and World Chess Olympiad winner Harika Dronavalli (India).

In a field of 10 players from 8 different countries, Fataliyeva claimed the title by scoring 6.5 points after 9 rounds. She was followed by Georgia's Nana Dzagnidze in second place and India's Harika Dronavalli in third.

It is worth noting that this victory in Uzbekistan marks Ulviyya Fataliyeva's second major success in 2026. Just last month, she won the Azerbaijan National Championship for the first time in her career.
