Azerbaijani athlete Elmin Aliyev has claimed the gold medal at the international Greco-Roman wrestling tournament held in Budapest, Hungary, dedicated to the memory of renowned wrestling coach Imre Baracsi.
According to Offsideplus.az, competing in the 82 kg weight category, Aliyev defeated all his opponents to take the top step of the podium.
In addition to Elmin Aliyev, other members of Azerbaijan’s U-20 national team — Kamran Rajabli (72 kg), Javad Mammadov (77 kg), and Mezaim Mardanov (130 kg) — also competed in the traditional tournament.
Immediately after the tournament, the Azerbaijani wrestlers traveled to the city of Tata, Hungary. There, from April 27 to May 2, they are participating in a training camp involving several international teams.
