The U23 European Wrestling Championships are ongoing in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

Offsideplus.az reports that on the fourth day of the competition, two Azerbaijani female wrestlers competed in the finals.

Gultakin Shirinova (55 kg) could not overcome her Hungarian opponent, Gerda Terek, in the decisive match (0:11) and secured the silver medal.

The final match between Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) and Belarusian wrestler Marta Hetmanava was a tense contest. By defeating her opponent with a minimal margin (2:1), our wrestler repeated her last year's result, successfully defending her title and becoming the U23 European Champion once again.
