The freestyle wrestling competitions at the U23 European Championships have come to an end.
According to Offsideplus.az, the Azerbaijani national team finished the tournament with a total of 1 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals. With 170 points, our team secured second place in Europe overall. The national squad trailed only Russia (199 points) and outperformed third-place Armenia by a margin of 54 points. Notably, 170 points marks the highest score ever achieved by our freestyle wrestling team in the history of the U23 European Championships.
The following athletes climbed the podium for Azerbaijan:
Gold Medal: Ali Tsokayev (92 kg)
Silver Medals: Vasif Baghirov (57 kg), Jeyhun Allahverdiyev (61 kg), Sabuhi Amiraslanov (79 kg), and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg)
Bronze Medals: Musa Aghayev (65 kg), Ramik Heybatov (70 kg), and Zafar Aliyev (97 kg)
