In the ninth round of the Misli Premier League, Zira triumphed over Sumgayit with a score of 3-2.
"We expected a lively and entertaining match. We started well, scoring two goals. However, after the 30-35 minute mark, the team experienced a dip. Our energy dropped. We weren't giving the opponent any goal-scoring opportunities, but conceded a goal towards the end of the half. We are struggling to solve this problem. After it was 2-2, my team responded well. I congratulate our fans, management, and players," said Zira's head coach Rashed Sadygov, according to Offsideplus.az.
"There are no weak teams in this season's championship. We are developing, and everyone is gaining experience. Sumgayit has been playing exceptionally well in their last two matches. Since Mr. Filipen's arrival, Sumgayit has been playing attractively and poses a threat. Thankfully, we managed to secure the victory in the end."
When asked about the tension during the match, the coach responded:
"I was tense in the first half. In the second half, I promised myself to remain calm. There were moments when we lost our composure. Episodes from other matches linger in your mind, and when different decisions are made..."
On transfers, he stated:
"We have not completed our selection. We lack a right winger. We need to strengthen the team. To what extent this will be successful, I do not know, but we must improve."
