"We came into this match with some losses, as we had injured players," said Azer Memmedov, head coach of Kəpəz, during a press conference.
The specialist commented on their victory (2:1) over Şəfa in the IX round of the Misli Premier League: "We knew it would be a tough game. In my opinion, the first half went better. We deserved to open the scoring, but we just lacked the finishing touch. In the second half, Şəfa put us under pressure and scored. After that goal, we made some changes to our system. Those changes benefited our team, and thanks to the players' commendable performance, we secured the victory."
When asked about their ambitions for European competitions, the coach responded:
"Currently, our team is on a successful run. I believe this is the result of the hard work the players have put in. Despite the points we've accumulated, I think we need to work harder. There are aspects we need to improve on, and we must focus on those. The players are getting used to each other and have found their rhythm. If we continue like this until winter, it will be a success for us. Of course, we want new transfers, but I don't think we are fully ready to compete for higher positions yet."
It is worth noting that the goals for the "Yellow-Blues" were scored by Shakir Seyidov from a penalty in the 74th minute and Blessing Olabiran in the 80th minute. Maudo Jarjue scored for the home side in the 55th minute.
