Qarabag head coach Gurban Gurbanov has shared his thoughts on today's UEFA Champions League play-off draw.
According to the club's official website, as reported by Offsideplus.az, the experienced specialist discussed the upcoming matchup against Newcastle:
"I hope the draw brings success and good fortune to our team and our fans. With every stage we pass, we face increasingly serious opponents. Newcastle drew 1:1 against PSG in the final round of the league phase. Therefore, it can be said that the strengths of both teams are roughly equal.
Playing against a Premier League club always demands extra strength. They are a very serious opponent. We will strive to perform well and prepare thoroughly, as the English Premier League is the strongest championship in the world. There isn't much of a significant gap between teams there; any side can beat another, and you might see 3-4 goals in any given match.
Newcastle is a formidable opponent. We will work hard to prepare for the match and get to know them better. However, Newcastle is by no means weaker than any other potential opponent at this stage; they have their own unique playing style and are a very fast-paced team."
