Azerbaijani judokas finished the first day of the Grand Slam tournament in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, without any medals.

Offsideplus.az reports that Nizami Imranov (66 kg), who came close to winning a bronze medal, faced Russian representative German Kobets in the decisive match. After losing to his opponent, our athlete finished the competition in fifth place.

Other judokas, Murad Muradli (60 kg) and Islam Rahimov (66 kg), lost in the earlier rounds, missing out on the chance to secure a medal.

The tournament is set to conclude on May 3.
