The final stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series, held in Katerini, Greece, on September 26-27, concluded with a significant victory for the Azerbaijan national team.

According to Offsideplus.az, under the guidance of head coach Oyan Nazarian, the team secured gold medals through Vusal Aliyev (80 kg), Ashraf Ashirov (90 kg), and Jamal Feyziyev (+90 kg), while Rubail Ibrahimli (70 kg) and Sahib Dadashov (80 kg) earned bronze medals. With a total of 90 points, our team finished the final stage in first place.

Based on the results of the five stages of the season, Vusal Aliyev has become a world champion for the second time in his career, while debutant Ashraf Ashirov has claimed the title for the first time. Rubail Ibrahimli, Sahib Dadashov, and Jamal Feyziyev concluded the season as world bronze medallists. Overall, the Azerbaijan team has achieved two gold and three bronze medals, marking the first time in history that they have been crowned world champions in the team standings.

Following this successful season, the United World Wrestling (UWW) has named Oyan Nazarian as the best coach of the year in beach wrestling. The award was presented to him by Pedro Silva, president of the UWW Beach Wrestling Committee.

It is worth noting that our country was also represented at the tournament by first-class referee Asif Shiraliyev.
