Azerbaijan national team forward Mahir Emreli shared his thoughts during the post-match press conference following the 1-1 draw against Lithuania in the UEFA Nations League.

Offsideplus.az reports that the experienced striker evaluated the outcome in Kaunas, noting that both sides had opportunities to secure a victory. He highlighted that Azerbaijan generated clearer scoring chances and controlled the tempo early on, though momentum shifted toward the host team in the second half.

Emreli, who scored the equalising goal for Azerbaijan, emphasised the personal and emotional significance of the moment:

"Scoring on such a day gave me special motivation. During my time at Qarabag, I always attached great importance to Remembrance Day. That is why I celebrated with a soldier's salute. My sense of patriotism is something I cannot hide. Even if it is viewed differently in Europe, that is simply who I am. This goal will remain one of the most memorable of my career."
