The Azerbaijani national team excelled at the "Yon Kornianu & Ladislav Simon" memorial tournament held in Bucharest, Romania, in Greco-Roman wrestling.
According to Offsideplus.az, our wrestlers, competing under the guidance of coaches Nureddin Rajabov and Rovshan Bayramov, finished the tournament with five medals.
In the national team, Farid Sadikhli (55 kg), Farid Khalilov (67 kg), Gurban Gurbanov (87 kg), and Mezaim Mardanov (130 kg) all triumphed over their opponents to win gold medals. Ilkin Gurbanov (63 kg) secured a place on the podium, finishing third to claim the bronze medal.
With these results, the Azerbaijani team concluded the tournament in second place overall.
