Offsideplus.az presents an interview with Frenki Filder, a basketball player from Sabah club, conducted by AzB.az:

- What are your thoughts on the new team?

- I am optimistic about my new team. Things are being set up in the right direction. Under the head coach's leadership, the players are working to adapt to the new system. We understand what he wants from us on the court. My impressions of Azerbaijan and Baku are wonderful. As is known, the Formula 1 race will take place this weekend. This is a magnificent event. Competing in the Champions League is very important for me. In this regard, the team's progress in the right direction has influenced my choice.

- What can you say about the training camp in Lithuania?

- The training camp in Lithuania was very important for us. It is essential for the players in the team to understand each other, adapt, and improve their fitness. For this reason, this camp was a significant experience for us. During the preparation, the players were a bit nervous in the first game. It was the first time we were playing together. However, in the second match, our team performed better both defensively and offensively. We felt progress in our game as a team. We were able to show what level we want to reach in that game. Even though I didn't play in the third game, the team made a very good impression. We saw the team trying to implement the head coach's instructions on the court. We played well transitioning from defence to attack. In the match against Jalgiris, the team couldn't display the game they wanted. However, we fought well in the last two minutes. Ultimately, we drew conclusions from this camp and learned some things. It was a great experience for us. I believe we will benefit from this experience in the new season for our team.

- What do you think about your opponents in the Champions League?

- Our opponents in the Champions League are very strong. We have drawn a tough group. But we have a good head coach and players. We are well-organised as a team. Therefore, we can compete against tough opponents. The main thing is that we go into the games with confidence. Because we must believe in ourselves. We should go out believing we can win every game.
