The winners of the "Baku Marathon 2026" organized at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on May 3, have been determined.

According to Offsideplus.az, Ahmet Alkanoglu from Turkey was the first to cross the finish line in the men's category. Ukrainian runner Vitaliy Shafar secured second place, while Yryskeldi Akylbekov (Yrskeldi Akerov) from Kyrgyzstan finished third.

In the women's competition, Elena Tolstykh from Russia took first place, followed by Anna Yusupova from Azerbaijan in second, and Shirin Akimbay from Kazakhstan in third.

It should be noted that this year's Baku Marathon featured a full 42-kilometer route for the first time, rather than the previous 21-kilometer distance, with 25,000 participants taking part in the event.
