The Azerbaijan national team played its first match today as part of the "FIFA Series – 2026" international tournament.

Offsideplus.az reports that the team, led by head coach Aykhan Abbasov, faced Saint Lucia and secured a dominant 6-1 victory. Held at the Mehdi Huseynzade Sumgayit City Stadium, the kickoff was delayed by 10 minutes due to weather conditions and traffic congestion, starting at 19:10.

The match was officiated by a crew of referees from Georgia.

The goals for our national team were scored by Emin Mahmudov, Rahim Sadikhov, Musa Gurbanli, Toral Bayramov, Vusal Isgandarli, and Rustam Akhmedzade.
