The Matchday 29 fixture of the Misli Premier League against "Shamakhi" turned out to be a memorable one for "Neftchi" forward Ramil Sheydayev.
As reported by Offsideplus.az, the 29-year-old striker scored his 40th goal in the Azerbaijani championships. He netted the milestone goal in the 42nd minute of the away match against "Shamakhi" from the penalty spot.
To reach this landmark, Sheydayev played 127 matches in the domestic league. He scored 30 goals for "Qarabag" (in 75 games), 6 for "Sabah" (in 28 games), and 4 for "Neftchi" (in 24 games).
With this achievement, the "Neftchi" striker has become the 67th player in the history of the Azerbaijani championship to score 40 or more goals. He now shares this milestone with Mehman Allahverdiyev, Fernando Peres, and Junivan Suarez.
