In the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Conference League, Zirə lost to Payde 0-1.

Offsideplus.az reports that Rashad Sadygov stated the following at the post-match press conference:

"In the first half, we created an advantage over the opponent by applying pressure. Unfortunately, we couldn't capitalise on our goal-scoring opportunities. We started the second half actively as well. In the last 15-20 minutes, the balance of power shifted. At times, the opponent began to pose a threat. I had emphasised before the match that the opponent has European experience. We felt this at the end of the match. We want to win against the opponent in the home game to progress to the next round."
