The match between Zirə and Torpedo (Kutaisi, Georgia) during the first qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League marked two significant milestones in the history of Azerbaijani football.

According to Offsideplus.az, referencing the official website of the Professional Football League, the game held in Sumgait has gone down in history as the 500th match played by Azerbaijani representatives in European club tournaments.

Our teams have participated in a total of 120 matches in the Champions League, 283 in the Europa League (formerly the UEFA Cup), 63 in the Conference League, 8 in the Cup Winners' Cup, and 26 in the Intertoto Cup. Two of these matches were annulled, and one did not take place, resulting in a technical outcome.
