The women's football team Neftchi has successfully commenced its campaign in the UEFA Champions League for the 2026/2027 season.

According to Offsideplus.az, the Azerbaijani champions faced Montenegro's Buducnost in the first qualifying round.

The semi-final match of Group 1, held in Veria, Greece, ended in a goalless draw after both regular and extra time, with a score of 0-0.

In the penalty shootout to determine the winner, Neftchi displayed greater accuracy, winning 4-3 and securing their place in the final.

The team, managed by head coach Siyaset Asgarov, will face the winner of the decisive match between PAOK (Greece) and Hapoel (Jerusalem, Israel) in the second qualifying round.
