Mahir Emreli ends long goal drought.

Offsideplus.az reports that 27-year-old striker Mahir Emreli, who plays for Nürnberg, scored his team’s second goal in yesterday’s match against Kaiserslautern, breaking a lengthy goal drought. This was his 4th goal of the season in the 2. Bundesliga.

After the match, Mahir took to social media to express his gratitude to those who supported him:

“A lot was said. A lot was written – even false news. But I quietly and consistently worked hard on myself, never lost my respect, and today I showed what I represent. This goal is not just about three points. It’s for everyone who believed in me — my teammates, coaches, and especially you, the fans. Thank you for your incredible support. See you in the next match.”

His return to scoring form is a big boost for both his club and the Azerbaijan national team.
