The statement came from Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral, Offsideplus.az reports.

Commenting on the appointment of the brother of billionaire Mubariz Mansimov, President of the Palmali Group of Companies, who was detained in connection with the FETO case, the ambassador did not think there was a problem:

"Everyone is responsible for their crimes," he said. "For this reason, Mais Mansimov is currently fulfilling his duties. If necessary, we meet with Mais from time to time in connection with the work. As for the trial of Mubariz Mansimov, I would like to say that as the trial continues, it has not been established that he has committed any crime."

Asked whether the embassy had contacted other members of the Mansimov family, the ambassador said:

"Until now, there has been no reason for us to take an official interest in the Mansimov family."
