Offsideplus.az reports that this was stated by Neftçi head coach Yuri Vernidub at the post-match press conference following the XV round of the Misli Premier League match between Neftçi and Sumqayıt.

The coach shared his thoughts on the game:
“Until the 70th minute, we saw real football on the pitch. Up to that point, I don’t recall any particular situation in front of Neftçi’s goal. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take advantage of the chances. The last 20 minutes were difficult. You could feel the players were getting tired. After the match against Karvan-Yevlax on December 20, we will start a training camp and bring the team to a better condition. We have a good team. Only a few things need fixing, especially discipline and physical condition. We will do everything possible, and some things that aren’t possible, to raise Neftçi to a higher level. I compare Neftçi to Dynamo and Shakhtar. Neftçi is a brand of Azerbaijani football.”

He also spoke about the goals ahead:
“At the training camp, we will work on physical preparation. It’s very difficult to achieve much in just five days. I’m not a magician to make immediate changes. But I know what to work on and how to do it. This team should not be in 8th place.”
