The U-17 World Championship in wrestling is drawing to a close in Baku.

According to Offsideplus.az, on the sixth day of the tournament held at the National Gymnastics Arena, wrestlers from Azerbaijan have joined the competition in six weight categories: 45, 51, 60, 71, and 92 kg.

Ibrahim Hasanov (51 kg) achieved a successful result on the day. He defeated Georgia's Giorgi Narimanidze (4:2) in the opening round, overcame India's Govind Govindi (10:3) in the quarter-finals, and faced Russia's Islam Kurakmayev in the semi-finals, winning (10:6). Huseynov will compete against Iran's Benyamin Mayvan in the final match tomorrow for the gold medal.

Unfortunately, the other wrestlers did not fare as well on the day:

Tunar Huseynov (45 kg) defeated Bulgaria's Radoslav Velikov (4:1) in the opening round but lost to Georgia's Luka Dotiazhvili by a narrow margin (4:5) in the quarter-finals.

Huseyn Rzazade (48 kg) won against India's Amirali Faza (9:6) but was defeated by American Kuper Cojua Deputiy (1:12) in the next match.

Elcan Huseynov (60 kg) lost to Poland's Vitold Pavlik, while Tunar Guliyev (71 kg) was defeated by Kazakhstan's Adilet Rysbaya (2:3).

Elgun Karimli (92 kg) faced a dramatic match against India's Sakham Fnu, ending in a draw (5:5) but ultimately losing on criteria.
