Azerbaijan's national teams will compete in the 46th World Chess Olympiad, taking place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, today in the next round - Round 10.

According to Offsideplus.az, our men's team will test their strength against Bulgaria in this round, while the women's team will battle Slovenia.

In the previous Round 9, our chess players had mixed results. The women's team decisively defeated the Czech Republic with a score of 4-0, while the men's team suffered a narrow defeat to the Armenian representatives, losing 1.5-2.5.

After the nine rounds completed, our men's team sits in 12th place in the tournament table with 13 points, based on additional criteria. Uzbekistan leads the standings with 16 points. Our women's team, also with 13 points, is in 14th place, while China is leading the women's competition with 17 points.

It is worth noting that the 46th World Chess Olympiad, organised under the Swiss system, consists of 11 rounds and will conclude on September 27.
