The preliminary squad representing Azerbaijan at the World Judo Championship for seniors, taking place in Baku from October 4 to 11, has been announced.

According to Offsideplus.az, Azerbaijan will be represented by 23 athletes (17 men and 6 women) across 12 weight categories at the prestigious event, which will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena.

Based on the decision of the coaching staff led by Richard Trautman and Amina Abdellatif, the squad competing in individual and mixed team events is as follows:

Women:

-48 kg: Shefq Hamedova, Konul Aliyeva

-52 kg: Gultac Mammadaliyeva

-57 kg: Khadija Qadesova

-70 kg: Sudabe Agayeva

+78 kg: Madina Kaisinova

Men:

-60 kg: Balabay Agayev, Ahmad Yusifov

-66 kg: Ruslan Pashayev, Turan Bayramov, Nizami Imranov

-73 kg: Hidayat Heydarov, Rashid Mammadaliyev

-81 kg: Zelim Tskayev, Omer Rajabli, Vusal Qelenderzade

-90 kg: Murad Fatiyev, Elcan Hajiyev, Suleyman Shukurov

It is worth noting that the individual matches will take place from October 4 to 10, while the team competition will be held on October 11.
