Arseniy Djioyev, representing Azerbaijan at the wrestling World Championship held in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, has won a silver medal in the 86 kg category.

After losing to American competitor Kyle Dake in the final, the athlete shared his impressions of the match.

Although his team was unable to secure a gold medal, he expressed optimism for future competitions:

"Thank you very much for the congratulations. As much as I wanted to see the Azerbaijani flag flying at the highest point, I couldn't achieve the gold medal. However, we still have time, and we are moving in the right direction; there is progress. This is just the beginning. Next time, I will strive to stand on the highest step of the podium."

Djioyev also highlighted the defeat in the final and the support he received:

"It's very difficult to predict outcomes in wrestling. Perhaps my opponent was better prepared this time, or I made mistakes. I haven't had time to think about it yet; the coaching staff and I will analyse the match and draw the right conclusions. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Azerbaijan, the Wrestling Federation, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for creating ideal conditions, and to our coaches for their hard work. I think it's hard to find another team with better conditions than ours. Long live Azerbaijan!"
